Versatile wide-angle lens with high speed The SAMYANG 35/1.4 lens is the ideal focal length for ready-to-shoot reportage use. Always the right combination in combination with an 85 mm: the outstanding advantage of the 35 mm lies in its freedom from distortion: it brings more image onto the sensor, but the typical wide-angle distortions or receding perspective do not yet occur. The very high aperture of 1.4 allows up to 3 stops of reserve compared to a standard vario lens. The speed is also visible in the brightness of the viewfinder, which provides adjustment reliability. The very shallow depth of field at open aperture makes it easier to focus on specific points.
Internal focusing The lens is equipped with internal focusing. Lens groups are shifted internally, the overall length of the optics does not change and the front mount does not rotate when focusing. Graduated and polarizing filters can therefore be easily attached (size 77mm).
Optical construction 12 lens elements in 10 groups are evidence of the enormous effort that has gone into achieving a high-performance, very good optical system. One lens is aspherically ground, two others have high refractive glass. Despite the medium image angle, hardly any aberrations are visible even at full aperture.
Advantages of a full-frame lens on a camera with an APS-C sensor Save time in post-processing. A large number of lens errors such as distortion, edge blur or vignetting occur on the outer areas of the image. If you use a lens calculated for full format on a camera with an APS-C sensor, these areas are not used. This results in maximum quality. Additional post-processing time to correct lens errors is therefore not required.
