This first Canon EF-mount autofocus lens from SAMYANG embodies the brand's widely recognized optical technology, especially in the wide-angle lens category. Out of a total of 15 elements in 10 groups, 7 special optical elements were selected in the manufacture of this lens to maximize image quality. The use of two aspherical lenses, four high refractive lenses and one ultra-low dispersion lens minimizes distortion and various aberrations while producing crystal clear resolution. The remarkably uniform image quality from center to corner of the wide 116.6 degree angle of view appears clearly on the MTF chart.

The minimized weight and movement of the focusing lens group enables quiet and comfortable autofocusing with high accuracy. This compact SAMYANG AF 14/2.8 DSLR Canon EF weighs only 485 g without protective cap and is therefore the ideal travel companion to capture unforgettable moments on your journey. Weather protection and a built-in AF / MF switch increase user-friendliness.

For the best possible optical performance of the lens, the light flow has been specially optimized based on the ratio of the lens glass to the position of the sensor of the Canon cameras. The high-quality 14 mm 2.8 lens is compact and lightweight despite its solid metal housing.

Advantages of a full-frame lens on a camera with an APS-C sensor
Save time in post-processing. A large number of lens errors such as distortion, edge blur or vignetting occur on the outer areas of the image. If you use a lens calculated for full format on a camera with an APS-C sensor, these areas are not used. This results in maximum quality. Additional post-processing time to correct lens errors is therefore not required.
