Expressive and fast landscape shots With an open aperture of F1.8, the Samyang 20 mm full-frame lens is the ideal companion for astro and landscape photography and guarantees good results even in low light conditions. Furthermore, the Samyang 20/1.8 impresses with its cropping qualities. The object in focus is skilfully set in scene, while (at open aperture) the background is immersed in a wonderfully soft bokeh. This wide-angle lens for full format is not only suitable for indoor shots, but also for concerts, landscape and street photography.
High quality optics The Samyang 20/1.8 DSLR is a fast super wide-angle lens designed specifically for use with full-frame cameras. The 20mm/1.8 lens is equipped with the best optical technology Samyang has to offer. The wide-angle lens is coated with the typical Samyang Ultra Multi Coating. The combination of coating, the two aspherical glass elements and the three extra-low dispersion glasses reduces chromatic aberrations to a minimum and prevents unsightly light scattering. The glass construction consists of 13 glass elements divided into 12 groups, ensuring sharp images from the centre to the edge of the frame. 7 aperture blades create an almost circular bokeh when the aperture is open, while closing the aperture reveals crystal-clear, star-shaped highlights. The lens is compact and robustly built, making it the perfect companion when the going gets a little rough.
Advantages of a full-frame lens on a camera with an APS-C sensor Save time in post-processing. A lot of lens aberrations like distortion, edge blur or vignetting occur on the outer areas of the image. If you use a lens calculated for full format on a camera with an APS-C sensor, these areas are not used. This way you get the maximum quality. Additional post-processing time to correct lens errors is therefore not necessary.
