Excellent image quality and high-quality workmanship The Nano Coating System used minimizes stray light and ghosting effects, resulting in crystal-clear and high-contrast images. The two aspherical lenses reduce chromatic aberrations and distortions and thus contribute to the excellent imaging performance of this lens. The focus and aperture are set manually. The metal barrel with its non-slip rubberized adjustment ring is very robust and impresses with its elegant appearance. Focusing is smooth yet precise. Aperture values are clearly locked in half steps. The lens hood, which is necessary for the large angle of view of up to 109.5° and is calculated for the exact angle of view, is permanently mounted.
Using an APS-C lens on a camera with a full-frame sensor Lenses that were developed for cameras with an APS-C sensor can sometimes be used on cameras with a full-frame sensor (mainly using an adapter). However, due to the significantly smaller image circle of APS-C lenses, the edges will be black. The usable area of the image photographed with a full-frame camera therefore corresponds to that of a camera with an APS-C sensor. The images must therefore be cropped in post-processing. The use of APS-C lenses on full-frame cameras is therefore possible, but not recommended.
